Looking Back...

Recently, a colleague, Paul Nelson, Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin, sent out a request for anyone who had a history of a library started by a woman's group, to send him the  story.  Reading the following, I was once again very proud to have moved to this community, with such a rich history of support and love for the library.

History of the Wild Rose Library and the Patterson Memorial Library

From the binder created by the Wild Rose Women’s Club, written by Pearl S. Dopp, January 1970:

Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for your support in 2012!  Not only for the library, but for me personally as well!  I have been welcomed by the community and feel at home here.

Through Storytime, the After School Program and the Summer Library Program, I've met many of the young adults and children in the village, I've gotten to a couple of games (I need to get to more) at the school and loved the Fall musical and the Christmas Program.

Ice Age 4: Continental Drift - Rescheduled for Friday, December 29

In a strange twist of irony, last Thursday, due to the snowstorm, we canceled Ice Age: Continental Drift.  I mean, isn't that funny?  We canceled a movie about the ice age because of too much snow?!  We have rescheduled the movie for 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm this Friday night, December 28.  There will be popcorn and some bottled water (1 per person - free refills from the water fountain!).
