What a wonderful night last night (Wdnesday, Sept. 23)! It was the Autmnal Equinox, and we hosted a book launch for Jerry APps' newest book: Wisconsin Agriculture: a history. According to the Wisconsin Historical Society Press' official liason, Halley Pucker, we had 75 attendees. The Friends, Volunteers and Staff of the library did an amazing job of making and setting up the food, and keeping things neat and tidy - I can not thank them enough for their hard work!
The Friends of the Patterson Memorial Library have a super idea - Make this the "Appiest" Christmas ever! The Friends have an escellent asortment of Jerry Apps books and DVDs available, including the newest DVD "The Land with Jerry Apps", which is only available here at The Patterson or by joining WPTV! Jerry donates his time to create these amazing videos, and his only request to WPTV is that they allow the library here in Wild Rose to sell the DVDs as a fundraiser!
Well, it's Autumn! It finally feels a little like it, and some of the leaves in the village are beginning to turn, and fall to the ground!
Things are settling in around the library - Mr. Kent's Storytime is going quite well with some old friends and some new friends as well! I encourage you to bring your little ones - any ages - to Storytime. We read books, sing songs, do fingerplays, and create some kind of craft. We also have a small treat, like cookies and milk or juice!
