Friends and Neighbors come to hear Jerry Apps

What a wonderful night last night (Wdnesday, Sept. 23)!  It was the Autmnal Equinox, and we hosted a book launch for Jerry APps' newest book: Wisconsin Agriculture: a history.  According to the Wisconsin Historical Society Press' official liason, Halley Pucker, we had 75 attendees.  The Friends, Volunteers and Staff of the library did an amazing job of making and setting up the food, and keeping things neat and tidy - I can not thank them enough for their hard work!

Autumn has arrived, Fall has fallen and the best season of the year is gracing us with it's sights and smells, (even if it is a bit warmer than normal!)

Upcoming events:

November 18 - The world premiere of The Land with Jerry Apps, This DVD is based upon Jerry's book "Whispers and Shadows."  We'll be hosting this World Premiere event at the Wild Rose High School Auditorium.  Cookies and hot cider beginning at 6pm, Jerry will talk at 6:30, with the film beginning at 7pm.

Both of our book clubs have begun the new year!  Hop on board the reading train and come to a meeting!  Click on the book clubs tab for information and book lists.  The Wild Rose Readeers and The Ladies' Garden of Readin' both have their lists at the library.  As soon as I  can, the books will be displayed on the website under the Book Clubs tab on the navigation bar above.

Marge Willing is a talented woman!  Come see her display of hand crafted miniatures in the library display case.

Marge has been creating her tiny wonders for years, a painstaking process which has resulted in her being well known throughout the miniatures community!
