I, Robot - Rocket Man!

Wild Rose Rockets and Robotics is on the move! (WRRR!)

Thanks to several donations, we have enough money to buy the two kits we need for the robotics program!  I have ordered the kits which should arrive by the middle of next month, if the builder isn't too far behind.  So the good news is we are going to start deconstruction of Buster in October!  As soon as we can agree on the best afternoon or night for robotics, we'll begin!

New Teen Advisory Board Takes Shape!

We are fortunate in our wonderful village to have a number of great teens and tweens - and several have committed to being on the new Teen Advisory Board.  The TAB in a library helps the director by planning teen events, raising money to decorate the teen area, offering assistance to younger children and the volunteers at the after-school program, and generally taking ownership in their section of the library and working for the good of the community!  Each one is eligible to write down their hours as part of their community service requirement for graduation, just as our Volunteens do!

Friends of The Patterson Sell Jerry Apps: A Farm Story DVD

The Friends of the Patterson Memorial Library are the "worldwide distributors" of Jerry Apps: A Farm Story, the Wisconsin Public TV documentary about growing up in Wild Rose and Waushara County.  By special arrangement with WPTV and with Jerry's input, until next February the DVD may only be purchased through National Public TV as a member, or through the friends group.
