Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for your support in 2012!  Not only for the library, but for me personally as well!  I have been welcomed by the community and feel at home here.

Through Storytime, the After School Program and the Summer Library Program, I've met many of the young adults and children in the village, I've gotten to a couple of games (I need to get to more) at the school and loved the Fall musical and the Christmas Program.

We've started having Community Movies - so far just 1 per month, but I feel next Fall when they return, we'll do better than that!  I welcome your suggestions for movies, by the way, just drop them off at the library, or email me: barnard@wildroselibrary.org.

I grew up in the small town of Menomonie, (well 8605 when I was in elementary shool).  I love small towns and really feel they are the backbone of America.  I relished growing up and being able to ride my bike around town without worrying, drinking milk at the banks in June - to the point of being sick when we went back 9out into the heat, and the small town celebrations.

We had a parade and an old fashioned Independence Day.  I played in the Ludington Guard Band, the community band;  performed in community plays at the Mabel Tainter Theater, and was a bigger part of the community than I realized at the time.  The point is - I think it's time for Wild Rose to get back to it's roots and a good old-fashioned family celebration!

Ther are about 25-40 members of the community who are actively seeking to resurrect Wild Rose Days - to have it reborn like a Phoenix from it's ashes.  What we have in mind is a good old fashioned celebration, complete with food, refreshments, the Lion's Club Lionesses BINGO, Lions Flea Market, alumni kickball game, and tons of games and events for the kids.

We're talking about using beautiful Roberts Park and having music and some dancing.   An Ice cream and Pie Social by St John's Lutheran Church ladies auxillary.  Games and performers for the kids and adults.

Children will be able to attend Storytime Performers, Storytellers, puppet shows, magicians and jugglers at the children's Enchanted Grove Stage, which will be nestled in the aspen grove by the volleyball court.  Nearby we hope to have an inflatable bouncy room, dunk tank, corn toss, fishing game and otehr carnival type games!

Please show your support in the upcoming months - there will be Wild Rose Days Fundraising events - aplease attend and give generously!
